The Masked Guard (Square) is a character in the Squid Game series and is a member of the upper class of Guardians. They wear a mask with a square symbol, indicating their high-level role in the game. Guardians with square masks are responsible for supervising other soldiers, such as those with triangle masks, and maintaining order among the participants. Although Guardians with square masks have more authority than those with triangle masks, they are still subordinate to the “superiors” with circle masks. Their behavior is strict and they are quick to enforce the rules in a brutal manner. The mask and nondescript clothing of the Guardians, including those with square masks, reflect the depersonalized appearance and dark hierarchy of the game.
